Experimenta Play ++ is an exhibition of 5 exemplary Australian media artworks tt respond to gallery visitor thru playful & innovative interfaces involving touch, movement, sound, shadow & pressure
Curated around the theme "Ludic" / playful interfaces, they showcased a number of ingenious methods tt the artists use to involve the gallery visitor to touch the artwork.

Touch, movement, sound, shadow & pressure are used in technologically advanced ways to trigger response in the works, to generate narrative within frictional worlds & create sonic compositions.
Experimenta is respected as Australia's leading organisation dedicated to commissioning, exhibiting & promoting the most advanced media & technology-based art.

The 5 artwork are as follow
Charmed
Offering omnipotence thru a touch screen
thr were 3 touch screen and each of them depicts a story once it's touch by the visitor
"we always wanted to be humble. However, due to the ppl and environment around us, we are not kind to ppl and tend to be who we are not "

s1 - congestion of traffic, once the screen is touched, the car will be crashed and more & more traffic could not pass thru the traffic lane

s2 - lovely trees are cut down for construction of new buildings, in Aussie @ nite, ppl watch tv & do nth, do nth.....

Immersion

The Shy Picture
A photograph hangs on the gallery wall, quiet, unobstrusive & mysterious. These character seems to see us in the photoframe. When we take a step closer to them, they run away and hide

What's Yours Is Mine
Inspired by childhood mythology, thr's a bear tt sings in a scrulpture tree and dance in the scrulpture tree. Using light & glass, it combines the magical pepper's Ghost technique w/ motion sensing equipment to explore the intersection between phisical & virtual space.

ZiZi the Affectionate Couch

electro lab - FILM::CLUB

Film : - Yoshihiro Hanno and Dickson Dee (Japan / Hong Kong)
: Club - AOKI Takamasa (Japan)

19 Jul 08 (Sat), Recital Studio
7.30pm ( Film: )10pm ( :Club )

Film :Yoshihiro Hanno and Dickson Dee (Japan / Hong Kong)

Since the invention of sound motion picture, music accompanying the moving image viewed in a darkened hall has the ability to tell a story without dialogue, evoke emotions and create moments of anticipation and relief.

Film : is a double-bill of filmic music accompanying video art work, a homage to music, sound and the moving image.

Film : is the seamless melding of the soundscape of live music by electronic musicians Yoshihiro Hanno a.k.a. RADIQ and Dickson Dee with moving images of the urban Asian landscape by video artists Yukeke Kaida and Chan Pikyu.

Both Hanno a.k.a RADIQ and Dickson works with a wide range of creative styles including
electronic, techno, acoustic, avant garde, turntablism and soundtracks.

Tin's Review
zebra crossing in HK where 3 x 4 images are played in repeats
all moving images moved in the same direction initially
goes in e messy direction @ e end
division of 5 panels where each image video is repeating after another
thr's no sequence in which which panel image video arrives 1st
inscense burned & scattered
experimental water ink is used for the artwork as the background,
burned for the performance as a performing art
original music was not played by Dickson
as his PC was crashed
instant sounds of bell was rang instead

: ClubAOKI Takamasa (Japan)
AOKI Takamasa is one of the busiest and freshest young electronic artists today. His sensitivity to melody and groove coupled with his approach to live performance keeps his music warm, emotive, and engaging.

Although there are now many artists who use personal computers in live performances, the majority seem to rely only on the functional convenience of the computer as opposed to AOKI's style of pushing his creativity through his computers and software.

Tin's review
techono, loops, mixing all rythm in MAC PC
palette of glitch, minimal tech, electronica & IDM
